My Story

I’m Lucy, creator of Harley’s Hounds. Harley is my long awaited German Shepherd, and I like to consider him to be my ‘demo dog’. My main training goal is him becoming a socially neutral dog. Our training has taught me a lot as a dog owner, and has inspired me to work with dogs professionally. I regularly work with trainers around the UK with Harley, to ensure that my knowledge regarding dog handling is to the best of my ability. Also to gain a deeper understanding of interspecies communication and ensure it's relevant and expansive. 

 

I have been working in the dog care sector for the past few years, with my experience encompassing practical handling, walking, management and dog sitting. All of this experience allows me to adapt my approach to each dog I’m caring for.  

 

As a professional, I understand that everyone has different ambitions for their dog, and it is my job to ensure that I carry this out, in a way that suits the owner and their dog. Safety is an incredibly important factor in my work, not just practical safety, but the dog feeling safe in my care. Daily active walks will provide plenty of exercise, social engagement and an abundance of brain work. So your dog will always come home very happy and content.
